Dr. Katie Wilson
Dr. Katie Wilson opened Wilson Family Chiropractic in 2006. She is a 2004 Life University, Doctor of Chiropractic, graduate and a 1992 graduate of University of Northern Colorado in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting. She enjoys providing chiropractic care to all ages and is certified in prenatal and pediatrics. Dr. Wilson believes in the intelligence of the body and its ability to heal naturally and drug-free.
Prior to moving to Sylva, Dr. Wilson and her husband Erik grew up in a small rural farming community in Northeast Colorado. She then spent her twenties traveling and living in South Africa. In her thirties, Dr. Wilson worked for Ribley Family Chiropractic in Woodstock, Georgia throughout her schooling and joined as one of the doctors until the opening of her own practice. With their love of small town living, a sense of community and family values, Erik and Dr. Katie felt Sylva was the perfect place to raise their two children, Eden and Kavan.
Dr. Jeffery Goldwasser
Dr. Jeffrey Goldwasser graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 1984 and has been in practice for 30 years. He opened his Sylva practice, Mountain Community Chiropractic in June of 2002. After twelve years of private practice in Sylva, Dr. Goldwasser joined Wilson Family Chiropractic in February of 2014.
In addition to his chiropractic services, Dr.Goldwasser is trained in functional medicine, nutritional therapy, weight loss,de-tox programs and exercise rehabilitation.
Mary joined Wilson Family Chiropractic in 2009 as a Chiropractic Assistant. She can help answer questions you may have regarding insurance, nutritional supplements and is certified to take x-rays in our office. Mary is a 2001 graduate of Western Carolina University in Parks & Recreation and a 2006 graduate of Clayton College of Natural Health in Holistic Nutrition. In her free time she enjoys canoeing, gardening, baking, playing cribbage and spending time with her husband, Adam and their son Seth and daughter Wren.
Valerie is a 2008 graduate from the Center of Massage & Natural Health of Asheville. She is a licensed massage and bodywork therapist through the state of NC and also holds a National Certification. She joined Wilson Family Chiropractic in 2010 and quickly became an active part of our practice.
She has a wide variety of experiences and techniques that has been gained throughout her years as a therapist. With a main focus on Deep Tissue and Neuromuscular Therapy she can incorporate sports massage, Thai yoga stretching, Oriental medical cupping, targeting myofacial release and aromatherapy using pure essential oils.
Valerie’s focus is to create a professional and comfortable environment to her clients. It is important for her to find a blended balance that provides the most muscle release and relaxation possible which better prepares the body for a chiropractic adjustment. Liscense number: #7890.
Meet Carly, our newest staff member at Wilson Family Chiropractic. While Carly’s hometown is Vale, NC she has been a Cullowhee resident for just over 8 years. She is a 2012 SCC graduate with an associates in Accounting, Crafting is a huge hobby for Carly. She enjoys jewelry making, painting, crocheting and almost any craft she is introduced to. She also enjoys camping and hanging out with her friends, family, her husband, Ezra, and their dogs Oscar & Maple. Please stop by & welcome Carly to the Wilson Family Chiropractic family.
Rachel is a 2016 graduate from Southwestern Community College for Massage Therapy and a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. Rachel has always had a heart to help people working soup kitchens and disaster relief for several years till she met her husband and settled in to Sylva. After being a stay at home mom for four years she decided it was time to pursue her career in massage therapy. Rachel will provide a calm comfortable space to help you relax and restore and get the most out of your massage and adjustment. License #15696 LMBT.
